Position Available: Senior AI/Automation Engineer
Location: Remote; Sri Lanka
Hours: Full-time – 5:30am – 1:30pm, IST Colombo

This role is suited to a hands-on technical professional with 5+ years of experience in software development, automation engineering, systems integration, or a related field. You’ll take ownership of automation projects from identifying opportunities and designing solutions through to development, deployment, testing, and ongoing improvement.

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior AI/Automation Engineer to help build smart automations, connect business systems, and develop AI-powered internal tools that improve efficiency and reduce repetitive manual work.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Senior AI/Automation Engineer, you’ll take ownership of automation projects, CRM integrations, and internal tool development. You’ll work with technologies such as Python, HubSpot, Claude Code, Vercel, and Supabase to create practical solutions that streamline workflows and solve real business problems. We’re looking for someone with strong technical foundations, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to independently take ideas from concept to implementation.

Your main responsibilities & experience:

• HubSpot & CRM Automations - Design, build, and maintain HubSpot workflows and CRM automations to streamline repetitive tasks, automate follow-ups, update records, and improve business processes. Identify opportunities to make existing workflows more efficient and reliable.
• CRM Integrations & APIs - Build and maintain integrations between HubSpot and other business applications using APIs, webhooks, and relevant integration tools. Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure accurate, reliable data flow between systems.
• Internal Tools Development - Develop lightweight internal tools and applications to automate data entry, manage records, and simplify routine administrative tasks. Use Python and suitable frontend technologies to create practical, maintainable solutions.
• AI-Assisted Development: Use Claude, Claude Code, and other AI-powered development tools to build, test, troubleshoot, and improve automations and internal applications. Identify opportunities to use AI to solve business problems and reduce manual work.
• Application Deployment & Maintenance: Build, deploy, and maintain internal tools using platforms such as Vercel and Supabase. Ensure applications are reliable, troubleshoot technical issues, and continuously improve existing solutions.
• Technical Ownership & Continuous Improvement: Take ownership of automation projects from requirements gathering and solution design through to implementation and maintenance. Test solutions, document processes, identify potential improvements, and ensure the tools built are reliable and fit for purpose.

What your profile will look like:

Must Have

• Relevant experience & coding skills: 5+ years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or systems integration, with strong hands-on skills in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
• Automation & integration expertise: Proven ability to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflows, and connect software applications using APIs, webhooks, and other integration methods.
• AI-assisted development: Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude or Claude Code to develop, test, troubleshoot, and improve practical business solutions.
• Problem-solving & technical ownership: Ability to independently manage technical projects from requirements gathering and development through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Attention to detail & communication: Strong focus on data accuracy, system reliability, and maintainable solutions, with good written and verbal English skills to understand requirements and communicate progress clearly.

Preferred: 

• Hands-on experience with HubSpot or other CRM workflow automations.
• Experience using Claude or Claude Code for AI-assisted development.
• Experience with Vercel, Supabase, or similar application deployment and backend platforms.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other frontend technologies.
• Experience with API integrations, webhooks, and third-party application connectivity.
• Experience building internal tools for data entry, data processing, or business process automation.
• A portfolio of automation projects, internal tools, integrations, or code repositories.
• You don't need hands-on experience with every tool listed. We're looking for someone with a solid foundation, a practical mindset, and the motivation to grow into the role.
